ARTIST Soraya French, who has been elected next President of the Society of Women Artists and who is author of four previous practical art books, has a new one being published June 2017.

A very colourful Contemporary Landscapes in Mixed Media is a detailed demonstration of techniques using the latest in textured materials. These include clear tar gels, glass bead gel and fibre pastes, which the artist uses with traditional paints, watercolours, inks and pastels to create her colourful landscapes - "....using a dash of oil pastel here and a swoosh of spray paint to bring verve and dynamism to your paintings...."!

With tips on composition, there are over 120 pages all with vibrant illustrations, starting appropriately enough, with "The Scottish Landscape" on the introduction page and ending with the reader being taken through the seasons with a colour palette for each one.

    Contemporary Landscapes in Mixed Media
